Sports photographer Chuck Kohn captured michael jordan wearing the Air Jordan 1 'Royal' in 1985. Jordan, who favoured this colourway, chose the royals as his first air jordan 1 to buy. Despite this, they were the only Top 3 colourway ('Banned' and 'Chicago') he never wore on court. The royals released in 1994, 2001, 2013, and 2017.
